Making disciples of our kids
We believe that God has called parents to raise their children in the ways and truths of God. Parents are primarily responsible for training their children to live out their gospel identity in everyday rhythms of life as a follower of Jesus. We are committed to equipping parents and providing opportunities for our children to be developed with other children to live out our Identity and Rhythms.
Often when we gather there are special opportunities for our children to be together as they grow and learn how to walk in the ways of Jesus in this community.
Tools for Parents & Missional Communities
Story of God for Kids
As we went through the Story of God in our Sunday gatherings, we edited the stories and dialogue specifically for elementary school children. It's a great resource for parents to teach their kids about God's plan of redemption and his purposes for his people.

Another great resource for parents is our favorite gospel-centered children's book,
The Jesus Storybook Bible: Every Story Whispers His Name. As an adult, you'll learn from this book, too.
Sometimes the honor and responsibility of teaching our kids can feel overwhelming. When our kids have a good grasp of the Story, we often use a very old way of teasing out the truths from the Story as short questions and answers kids can memorize--it's called a catechism. Mission Kids will use this in their class often, and we encourage parents and MCs to use this as one tool to help teach kids about our amazing God.
Mission Kids (Kinder - 5th Grade)
If you were to peek in on a Mission Kids class, you’d see kids greeted by warm, friendly teachers and how the kids sense the love of God through these adults in our family. You’d hear the sounds of energetic music, conversation, games and projects. And you’d experience interactive gospel-centered lessons that creatively encourage kids to root their identity and how they live in the person and work of Jesus.
4 & 5's
The preschool ages are often when our children begin to really learn who Jesus is and experience his love for them personally. In our Preschool Class, kids learn a story from the Bible and a verse that emphasizes the theme of the story. We also lead them in a short discussion, encouraging them to talk about how the truth of the gospel from the Story should affect their lives. We emphasize character development and spiritual growth in everything we teach. The class also involves lots of other fun activities like songs, imaginative play and art.
2 & 3's
A toddler’s energy is amazing and magnetizing. Those of us teaching our toddlers find it rejuvenating to see all the energy God has packed into them. As a family we partner together as teachers and parents to introduce our children to Christ. Our Toddler Class always involves lots of planned learning experiences designed with the ability of the children in mind, including stories, songs, imaginative play and art.
Nursery (Birth – 23 Months)
Our littlest ones are a precious part of our family, and we have the tremendous privilege to love them with the love of Jesus. In addition to helping them feel safe and secure with other members of our big family, we tell some stories, sing songs, eat and play--all with the ability of the children in mind and all for the sake of Jesus, making it all about him.
